Clerk

The Office of the Municipal Clerk is a vital unit of local government that provides an essential link between citizens and their local governing body.  Statutory duties of the Clerk include:

  1. Prepare agendas and take minutes of all meetings of the Village Board, and all other committees and commissions that serve the Village
  2. Maintain and provide public access to specific official Village documents and records
  3. Administration of all elections and voter registration
  4. Issue building permits, liquor and operator (bartender) licenses
  5. Maintain the Municipal Code of Ordinances
  6. Open record requests

Other duties performed include, but are not limited to:

  1. Public notices regarding resolutions, ordinances, public hearings, and meeting agenda/minutes
  2. Provide notary services
  3. Records retention
  4. Provide general assistance to residents and other customers of the Village on a daily basis
